As part of the recertification process of our tin smelter and refinery in Pisco (Ica), we received the pleasant visit of Ms. Alyssa Newman, Program Manager Supply Chain Sustainability – Conflict Minerals of Google. She arrived as an observer together with the RMI (Responsible Minerals Initiative)’s audit team.
During her visit, she had the opportunity to go to our Refinery and Smelter but also to go to the San Rafael mining unit in Puno region. There she got a first hand look at not only our operations but also, several social investment programs run by the San Rafael team together with its neighboring communities. Among these programs she took special attention to the Fibra Emprendedora program, which enables more than 60 craftswomen to export their products and improve their social status. There was even an exchange of experiences to foster these programs.
We constantly receive visits from clients and other companies down the supply chain, so if you want to visit our operations and have a firsthand knowledge of them, do not hesitate to contact us.
