Responsible tin for the world

As part of our commitment to responsible mineral sourcing, in 2024 we implemented additional audits on our tin mining, transportation, and smelting processes in Peru.

The International Tin Association (ITA) and PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) assessed our due diligence system, confirming compliance with standard 7.3 of the Tin Code and OECD guidelines.

They highlighted the low level of risk in our operations, as 100% of the concentrate comes from our San Rafael mine, and underlined the traceability of the mineral and control of the chain of custody.

“These external assessments reaffirm our commitment to transparency and sustainability, ensuring our clients a responsible supply of tin,” said Jéssica Vásquez, Sustainability Manager at Minsur.

The aforementioned audits complement the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) of which we have been part for several years and which we periodically evaluate.
